Erris Huigens transforms ordinary grid structures into quietly dynamic compositions through subtle acts of cutting, folding, and displacement. Working with reclaimed grid paper as both material and framework, the artist introduces slight shifts in alignment and geometry that disrupt the perceived rigidity of the underlying system.
Circular voids, diagonal divisions, and fragmented edges interrupt the regularity of the grid, creating a delicate tension between precision and imperfection, flatness and spatial depth. Minimal yet tactile, the work reflects Huigens’ ongoing interest in repetition, reduction, and the quiet instability that can emerge through subtle manual intervention.
